About Me

Who Am I?

Hi I'm Arjun. A Vision Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the Defense & Space industry. I have a keen eye for Aerial Robotics. Skilled in Python, Computer Vision, Neural nets, C++, and Linux. A vivid AI and Robotics enthusiast, I am currently a Robotics System Design (MRSD) student at Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Technology focused in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology.

Besides my technical background, I am a hobby drummer often gigging and participating in competitions. Apart from music, I also take keen interest in the field of athletics and happen to be skilled in various sports like Track, Swimming, Squash and Air-Rifle shooting to name a few.

IoTrics August 2020 - June 2021

Implemented and deployed a scalable end-to-end Structure from Motion (SfM) pipeline which was employd by various devices

Developed, trained and deployed CNN model to scale for mask detection with an accuracy of 95% which is being used by 200 people per day on average

Successfully integrated live drone feed with VR goggles for inspection purposes

Semantic Segmentation for River Width Measurement in SAR Images January - May 2020

Implemented and tested UNet and DeepLabv3+ on SAR images for identifying land and water in SAR images, attaining an accuracy of 93% (Unet) and 98% (DeepLabv3+)

Developed a distance measuring algorithm using morphological transformation and Euclidean distance measurement and obtained an average error of 22 meters

Published findings in Elsevier’s Computers and Geosciences Journal

Myelin Foundry (Intern) December 2019

Implemented and optimized multiple image enhancement filters as a part of video super-resolution framework

Also performed an in-depth perfomance analysis for implemented filters and demonstrated significant perceptual quality improvement shown by a improvement of 25 points on the VMAF scale

Karel Electronics (Intern) July 2019

Developed an ADAS System for cars to detect oncoming traffic and pedestrians using Haar Cascades and Multi-object tracker to improve road safety.Integrated rear-view camera displays with a buzzer to warn the driver about any threats on roads

Demonstrated this system to FIAT, Turkey at a meeting between Karel Electronics and FIAT

Constructed an ADAS surround view system on an embedded platform using OpenCV and v4l2 for drivers to get a surround view of the vehicle.Incorporated 4 cameras to work simultaneously with the next generation rear-view cameras (instead of mirrors) in cars using OpenCV, V4L2, Driver Programming and C

AIA Systems Labs 2018-2019

Responsible for envisioning and implementing vision and control systems. Developed prototypes and POCs for companies like Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Tata International and Towbotics
